The Best Salsa Recipes

Are you looking to eat healthier food, reduce prep time and save money? Well, we’ve got the perfect tool for you; a manual food processor. They are the perfect tool for making quick and tasty summer snacks. What’s even better is that it’s easy to do, as long as you know which ingredients to use. So we’ve gone ahead and compiled a few of our favourite salsa recipes that put your processor to work.


Mango Salsa


  • 1 tbsp fresh cilantro
  • 1 cup halved red and green seedless grapes
  • 1 slice of lime
  • 2 tbsp of minced red onion
  • 1 peeled, pitted and diced Mango
  • 1 seeded and diced jalapeno pepper

Directions: Add cilantro, jalapeno, onion, grapes and mango into a manual food processor (best when done in this order). Pump until desired consistency. Season with salt and pepper. Squeeze lime on mixed ingredients. This salsa can be prepared up to 6 hours ahead of serving. Cover and leave to chill until ready to serve.


Tomato Salsa


  • 2 cups of divided grape tomatoes
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 peeled garlic cloves
  • 1/2 cup cilantro
  • 1 small onion
  • 2 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 1 stemmed jalapeno pepper

Directions: Cut jalapeno into thirds and cut onion into quarters. Add jalapeno, onion, cilantro, lemon juice and salt into manual food processor. Pump until coarsely chopped. Add half of the tomatoes and pump until coarsely chopped. Add the remaining tomatoes and pump until desired consistency. Cover and leave to chill until ready to serve. 


Spicy Salsa 


  • 1 peeled onion
  • 1 stemmed jalapeno pepper
  • 1/4 cup packed cilantro
  • 1 garlic clove
  • 4 tomatoes
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • Salt and pepper
  • Optional: hot sauce

Directions: Cut onion and tomatoes into quarters. Add onion, garlic clove and jalapeno pepper into a manual food processor until finely minced. Add tomatoes, cilantro, cumin, lime juice, salt and pepper. Pumped until desired consistency. Add hot sauce if desired. Cover and leave to chill until ready to serve. Not only are food processors great for making salsa but they are also beneficial for other kitchen tasks. This includes; shredding large amounts of food such as nuts, cheese, chicken or veggies, or for making homemade dips, sauces and nut butter. Enjoy!
